Welcome Parents to eLearning101!
This course is designed for parents of AO Elementary students Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Objectives for this course are based on technology concepts and programs that AO students use. The course is designed so that parents can become technology partners with their children in order to strengthen their 21st Century Skills.
Sessions that are highlighted in this training are used in some manner by each K-5th grade student. Session 1 will highlight the advantages and capabilities of Gaggle an online tool provided by the Alamance-Burlington School System for all of the students.Gaggle is the tool in which homework can be uploaded and shared. Session 2 highlights the importance of being aware of cyberbullying and how to handle situations in which your child may be exposed. Session 3 will focus on the use and creation of a basic Word Document. Session 4 continues with the use and construction of a Power Point Presentation. Finally, Session 5 will highlight popular Web 2.0 tools that students may use for presentations.
Upon finishing this project you will be able to assist your child in multiple technological endeavors that they are exposed to at the elementary level. These skills and techniques will provide a significant advantage for your child as you support him/her in learning in the 21st Century!
